Outline Your Instastrategy - Why Is Instagram For You
We love our Instagram account. It is a space that celebrates our young content creators, emerging talent, partner organisations and ambassadors. In many ways, it belongs as much to them as it does to TG4. We want it to feel authentic, collaborative and community-driven, giving young Irish speakers a platform to showcase who they are and what they care about.
The account is a place to promote the Irish language in a fresh, relevant and engaging way, while creating content that stands shoulder to shoulder with the best Gen Z brands online. It is a fun, energetic space that is not afraid to be bold when necessary. We react quickly to cultural moments, trends and conversations, ensuring that our content feels current and connected to the lives of young people.
Through a mix of Reels, Instagram takeovers, carousels, stories and posts, we provide a constant stream of content that entertains, informs and sparks discussion. The themes we explore are the themes that matter to young audiences: love, friendship, identity, nightlife, language, culture, social issues and mental health.
Entertainment is always at the heart of what we do. However, we also recognise the importance of tackling bigger subjects when they arise, creating space for meaningful conversations while maintaining a tone that is accessible, engaging and distinctly rooted in youth culture.
How Can You Measure Impact To The Bizorg
This brand is hugely important to TG4. As viewing habits continue to evolve and the media landscape changes, platforms like BLOC play an increasingly vital role in connecting TG4 with the next generation of Irish speakers and content consumers. While television remains an important part of the ecosystem, it is clear that younger audiences are engaging with content in different ways, and TG4's future success will depend on nurturing and supporting a new wave of creators who understand these audiences.
BLOC fills a gap that is not always served by traditional linear broadcasting or on-demand services. It provides content specifically for Gen Z, on the platforms where they already spend their time and in formats they actively engage with. It offers entertainment, conversation, cultural relevance and representation through the medium of Irish.
TG4 recognises the strategic importance of the brand, not only as a way of reaching younger audiences today but also as a means of cultivating the creators, presenters and storytellers of tomorrow. Our goal is to ensure that Irish-language content is not only visible but thriving, reflecting the humour, creativity, experiences and perspectives of a new generation. By doing so, we help keep the language relevant, vibrant and woven into the everyday lives of young people.

This bold and thought-provoking series featured Bláithín de Búrca, better known as The Gaeilge Sexpert, exploring the myths, taboos, and realities surrounding sex and relationships. The objective of the series was to grow its audience and follower base by creating bold, entertaining Irish-language content that immediately stopped people scrolling and sparked conversation. The set design was colourful and playful, while Bláithín's witty and comedic delivery helped make sensitive topics more accessible, engaging, and entertaining for viewers.

We had been following Becky's journey along the Wild Atlantic Way and were deeply impressed by her endurance, bravery and determination to raise awareness of suicide while also fundraising for the cause. When she reached Galway, I happened to bump into her on the road. After a chat, we arranged a filming date.
Although Becky was not an Irish speaker, we taught her the opening line for the first shot, and the remainder of the piece was voiced by our intern, Séadna.
